DAG Fall Auctions Culminate in Bountiful Double Header

DALLAS (November 25, 2013) – Large diamonds and renowned designers were the highlights at DAG’s Fine Jewels auction on Wednesday, November 21.  International competition drove the prices for 5 to 15 carat diamonds to above estimates.  Designs by David Webb, Elizabeth Gage and Henry Dunay, as well as timepieces by Rolex, Piaget and Hermes also drew bids at the high end and above estimates.  The sale featured a remarkable collection of jewels, more than 150 of the lots were garnered from the estate of a Texas gentleman collector.  Hundreds of bidders from the gallery floor, on the telephones and via the internet drove prices to record numbers for DAG’s fine jewelry department.

The following evening, DAG’s Vintage Luxury Auction handily beat estimates for handbags, accessories, scarves and jewelry by Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Valentino.  Collectors continue to covet evening bags and menaudieres by Judith Lieber.

“It’s truly gratifying to bring these collections to auction and see them elicit the response and enthusiasm we believed they were capable of.  Our two-prong strategy has always been to realize maximum value for our consignors by offering exceptional collections to our bidders.  Our Fall auctions surpassed our expectations on every level.”

Scott Shuford, President
