DAG Presents Victor Costa Collection for Auction

Anonymous Donor Directs Sale Proceeds to Jewish Family Services

DALLAS (April  15, 2014) –  A collection of five unique Victor Costa fashion designs will be offered by Dallas Auction Gallery at their May 22 Vintage Couture sale.  Mr. Costa, a Texas treasure and an icon of the evening wear industry, produced his distinct interpretations of French and American designs utilizing bold colors, sumptuous fabrics, intricate beadwork and embellishments.

Mr. Costa gifted the consignor, an anonymous Dallas donor, with these beautiful pieces over the span of his design career in gratitude for her patronage as one of his most devoted clients and friends.    In turn, she wishes to honor his generosity by donating the proceeds from the sale of these garments to a favorite charity, Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Dallas.  As well, Dallas Auction Gallery is waiving all seller’s fees associated with these pieces so that the entire hammer price of these five items will benefit JFS.  Founded in 1950, Jewish Family Services serves people from Dallas and Collin County as an open door to those in need, regardless of age, race, religion or ability to pay.  Their mission is “to provide professional, effective and affordable mental health and social services that promote lifelong self-sufficiency and well-being for anyone in need.”

On Thursday, May 22, DAG’s Vintage Luxury Auction will feature, in addition to these spectacular Victor Costa pieces, classic couture and contemporary luxury goods including clothing, designer handbags, scarves, and accessories from designers Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Valentino, Hermes, and others.  DAG’s November 2013 Vintage Couture and Luxury Goods Auction set a Gallery record for sales volume in that category.

Bidding is available live in the Gallery at 2235 Monitor Street, by phone, by absentee bidding or online through liveauctioneers.com.
