September 14th Decorative Art Auction Highlights

September 14th Dallas Auction Gallery will host its Decorative Art Auction which is highlighted by several important Texas collections and estates. “It is rare these days to find an auction as well rounded as our September 14th auction, there are several “mini” collections within the sale including a collection of Old Paris porcelain vases, sevres porcelains, Royal Vienna portrait plates, 30 pieces of art glass, five tapestries, leather bound books, lovely examples of American and French furniture, and much more. Stand out pieces in the auction include a signed Sormani Louis XV style ladies dressing table with beveled mirror and associated chair offered with an estimate of $15,000-$20,000.00, a magnificent pair of carved marble urns, each signed, “D’ Epinay,” estimated at $20,000-$30,000.00, a rare 21 piece Meissen porcelain monkey band estimated at $15,000-$20,000.00, an Erard Louis XVI style parlor grand piano cased in rare plum pudding mahogany and marked “Erard Paris” estimated at $20,000-$30,000.00, 18th C. George III satinwood breakfront secretaire bookcase, $10,000-$15,000.00, Federal period Sheraton bookcase cabinet with urn shaped finials on a scalloped cornice, estimated at $4,000-$7,000.00 and a collection of Hermes Birkin bags including a 35cm cognac ostrich Birkin bag with gold tone hardware, this size is no longer made by Hermes, the collection ranges in estates from $8,000-$22,000.00 per bag.
