Dallas Auction Gallery Welcomes New Owners Katy Alexander & Gabe Echeverry in Letter From Founder Scott Shuford
To our longtime friends, clients, and partners,
I am happy to announce that Dallas Auction Gallery has found new owners in the fantastic team of Katy Alexander and Gabe Echeverry. Ms. Alexander and Mr. Echeverry are seasoned professionals in the auction industry and bring an invaluable combination of expertise and enthusiasm to DAG.
Our clients will be pleased to know that the gallery will continue to look very much the same under their direction: the same quality of fine and decorative arts in the same Design District showroom with the same staff of Jerry Holley, Beth Hansen, and Elaina Grinwald, with Kathi and I staying on as consultants. We could not have entrusted the gallery to two better people who are seamlessly carrying on the tradition of integrity, honesty, and personal service that Dallas Auction Gallery has stood for these past 18 years.
I hope you will join me in whole-heartedly welcoming Katy and Gabe to Dallas and toasting their success in this new chapter of Dallas Auction Gallery.
It is, of course, not without some wistfulness that we pass the torch. Kathi and I founded Dallas Auction Gallery in 2002 to fill the need for a high-end antique auction house in Dallas. We set out to create an exceptional auction experience that offered quality art and antiques with a trustworthy, personal touch. The words “Your Collection, Our Passion” is truly how we feel.
We had the privilege of auctioning several outstanding collections, including the Collection of Mr. Sam Wyly and the Estate of Mrs. W.A. Criswell. It has been, through and through, a family business with all four of our daughters working at DAG in some form or another throughout; and our staff, many who have worked with us for years, have become part of the family, too.
Most of all, it’s been a pleasure to meet all our great clients—the consignors, the collectors, the dealers and the dabblers—we’ve had a lot of fun working with y’all.
Thank you for your support of Dallas Auction Gallery and we wish Katy and Gabe the best of luck. We know DAG is in good hands!
